Things I Love Tuesday

So! We have been going through a little ‘terrible two’ spell, but I am determined to find and enjoy the special moments in each day! I thought it would be fun to share a few things that I love every Tuesday – moments, people, or products. I hope you will share your own with me as well! #thingsthatilovetuesday

I love….

Grocery shopping with my crazy little! She finds ways to make everything an adventure J

Getting my hair doneee ahh the best feeling!

There is this woman who works at Starbucks who I LOVE!! I wish I had just her enthusiasm for life, she blows my mind every time! Anyways – went through the drive thru today and she asked me if I wanted to take an extra latte for a friend?! I was like, ‘Ummm well, yes, I’m sure my ‘friend’ could use the extra caffeine…” Haha!

Also not wearing make up. That's a great feeling, too :-)

That’s all for today! Comment below to let me know what you are loving on this week! Thanks for checking in XO

Travel Tips

I get a lot of questions about this so I wanted to just address on my blog– staying healthy while traveling! It’s so easy to throw off your plan entirely when you’re on-the-go – but you don’t have to!

Here are some of the ways I stay on track while traveling:

Go in with a plan. If you go into it thinking that you’ll try to stay on track, but whatever happens happens – oh, it’ll happen! Trust me, I’ve been there! If you know you’ll be hitting up your favorite restaurant, plan your cheat meals ahead of time. Plan your workouts to fit into your schedule – bring DVDs, bands, whatever you need to make it happen.

Bring/stock up on healthy foods. I don’t go anywhere without almonds, Quest bars, Ezekiels, water, shakes, and peanut butter. Honestly, nowhere. I will bring string cheese, Greek yogurt, and sliced peppers in a little cooler as well. It might sound crazy, but it helps!

HYDRATE, hydrate, hydrate. In my personal experience, traveling oftentimes involves adult beverages. Sometimes. Maybe. All the time. I don’t know – either way, make sure your drinking water, too. Drink it as soon as you wake up, before meals, and before you go to bed. Your body and skin will thank me.

Make a few great playlists. For the ride or plane trip, obviously. And you might even get all hyped up to get a sweat in.

I think that’s all I've got for now! What are your tips for staying on track while traveling?! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts J

Speaking of traveling, Harlow and I are road tripping this weekend to see some of our favorites – snacks in tact and ready to go! Thanks for checking in! XO

Shakeology Mug Cake

I love finding recipes that taste like a real treat, but don't throw me off of my plan! The Shakeo mug cake happened today - and it was bomb.com.

You will need:

- 1 scoop (or one packet) of chocolate Shakeology (vegan or regular - I use vegan)
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp of Stevia - I used two packets and it worked well!
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg or 2 egg whites
- 2 tbsp of water or milk
- peanut or almond butter - I want to say this is option but - is peanut butter ever just an option..? No.
- I also sprinkled a few carob chips also!

Directions:

1. In a mug, mix all of your dry ingredients - Shakeology, baking powder, Stevia, and salt.
2. Add your egg or egg whites and milk or water and mix well.
3. Add peanut butter into the center and sprinkle with carob chips.
4. Microwave for 90 seconds and try to wait until it cools off before you enjoy!

Hope you love it as much as I did - XO

Clean Mojitos

Summer isn't over yet! What better way to cool off than with a clean mojito :-) And let's not forget - Labor Day is right around the corner! Whip up a batch for the whole fam!

You will need:

- 5 fresh mint leaves
- ½ lime, cut into four wedges
- 2 strawberries, sliced
- 5 blueberries (You can use any kind of fruit! I was just going for red, white and blue :-))
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 ½ oz white rum
- 1 can of La Croix – I used the Pomme Baya (apple berry) flavor since I was going for a berry flavor, but I love the coconut flavor, too!

1. Place mint leaves and two wedges into your glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime – releasing the juice.

2. Add sliced strawberries and blueberries and the rest of your lime and muddle.

3. Fill the glass with ice, add rum, and then your La Croix.

4. Stir and taste! The fruit should add a good, sugary taste – but if you want to add some Stevia- go for it! Enjoy!

Transformation Tuesday

Transformation Tuesday. Everyone knows what it is – our timelines and newsfeeds are blown up on the regular with transformation pictures. And I’m guilty! I love sharing what works for me, what can I say J

Truthfully, my biggest transformation recently has not been my appearance. I mean, I definitely let loose sometimes and realize it’s getting a liiitle more difficult to pull my pants up. Actually this may happen a little more often than I’d like to lead on BUT STILL.

You know how sometimes you find yourself in a situation and you’re just like WHAT HOW WHY NO STOP! And you’re trying to hard to fight it. And fight it and fight it and fight it. So I did this CRAZY thing and just stopped fighting it. And things started… falling into place?! Seriously, though. I know it sounds crazy, but just follow with me here. I let go of my want need for control, embraced the change, and starting working with it. And things kind of started… just working out!

Maybe this doesn’t sound like a big ‘transformation,’ but within the past year I have really went for and embraced a few things that I felt were my 'calling,' if you will. And it has been just the past few months that I have actually starting believing in myself. I have always had big dreams, but never truly 100% believed that I could achieve them. So I guess I’m just saying that while I obviously feel strongly about having a positive body image and feeling good great about yourself, there are so many other important transformations worth talking about!

Thanks for checking in and dreaming with me! XO

Clean Reese Peanut Butter Cups

For those of you that know me, you know that I love sweets. And peanut butter. Not necessarily in that order. So it’s no secret that Reese peanut butter cups were always my go-to sweet treat. I tried out this clean Reese recipe – AWESOME!

Clean Reese Peanut Butter Cups// yields approx. 4 servings

You will need:

4 tbsp of coconut oil (I used Jungle Organic Coconut Oil - which I ordered off of iHerb.com)
2 tbsp of peanut butter (check your labels – I use organic and natural to keep it clean!)
1 packet (or 1 scoop) of Vegan Chocolate Shakeology – or regular chocolate

*I did not do this, as you can see, but I would line your dishes or use a little extra coconut oil and coat them so the cups don’t stick!*

1. First, melt 2 tbsp of the coconut oil in the microwave for fifteen seconds.

2. Mix in ½ of your Shakeology packet/scoop at this time. Pour this mixture into a small dish and freeze for five minutes.

3. Take the dish out of the freezer and smear the peanut butter ontop of your chocolate layer.

4. Repeat step 1+2 and add this ontop of your PB!

5. Freeze for fifteen more minutes and enjoy!!

Helloo August! Is it seriously August already!? How what why! I do have to say though and don’t hate on me for this – now that my birthday is over, I am PSYCHED that it’s time to fall shop for Harlow!
